2018 in Review

I didn’t think I was going to get another blog post in with business of the Holidays, but I could not get this blog off of my mind, so here I am with my last post of 2018! I want to end this year with a post about my favorite or most memorable moments of 2018. For every month I will share at least one thing that took place that month that had a lot of impact in my life. I hope y’all enjoy!

January – Back to work after three months of maternity leave.. this was bittersweet.

February – I made a commitment to make church routine again, and I’m still going strong. So glad to be back! Next step, is getting all the boys going with me more regularly.

March – Family road trip to Detroit!

April – I became international, baby! Me and a friend took a week-long girls trip to Cancun; and it was AMAZING! One of my best trips so far. Relaxing and beautiful! Also, Deen turned two! We rented a moon bounce and had a party in my parents backyard; that was fun.

May – I officially started blogging again and launched my first blog post on self care! I have remained consistent and continue to keep on blogging, bringing more material in 2019; just wait on it! Also, I had an amazing Mother’s Day which included my man + dad cooking out for me and concluded with me and the boys enjoying our slip n slide!

June – Isaiah turned six! We did not do anything BIG, but every one of my kids is memorable for me! Also, my first time protesting! Deen started gymnastics and Isaiah’s first season of basketball! My man got his car and we became a “two car family”! I was so excited about that! Oh.. and I did not lose Deen at the zoo! (We can laugh about it now, lol).

July – FOURTH OF JULY! Definitely one of my favorite fourth of July’s with my family. My man went all out on purchasing fireworks, and we went to his family’s house and celebrated and launched fireworks; such a good time! & I cut my hair!

August – Isaiah started FIRST grade! And he is excelling! So smart and awesome and being tested for Gifted classes! Also, love love love his teacher! Her son and my youngest son were born on the same day a few hours apart, so I feel like we have a special connection, lol! Also, I started my fitness journey! …I’ve gotten slack with the holidays, but I’m going to get back to it!

September – My office location moved to across the street from my parent’s house, literally such a blessing!

October – Malik and my birthday month! Had an awesome (+ draining) 1st photo shoot for Malik. Got beautiful family pictures. Threw Malik a fun little party. So much fun with the kids and one of my best friends trick or treating at her job!

November – Mother & Son night at Isaiah’s school.. this is one of my favorite yearly son & mom date nights! Oh and I got a promotion! That’s always nice, lol.

December – Girls Trip to New York, concrete jungle where dreams are made of; there’s nothing you can’t do in New York; these streets will make you feel brand new; these lights will inspire youuuu. (In the words of Alicia Keys, lol) I was actually born in New York, but we moved when I was five and though my mom goes back frequently, I haven’t been since I was like 13. Anyway, I had a great time! Also, CHRISTMAS!! There’s nothing like watching your kid’s joy and excitement on Christmas!

These are just a few of my top most memorable things from 2018. This year was full and it moved so fast. I honestly cannot wait to see what 2019 has in store for me and my little family! What are some of y’alls most memorable events of 2018? I can’t wait to read your responses! Talk to y’all next year, Happy New Year!

  3. Looks like you had an amazing year. You have great energy and positivity!
My big trip was out to San Diego, CA with my family. It was a first for all of us to be in California, and it was our best family vacation yet!
