The Most Wonderful Time of the Year

Hey Friends!

I always feel so uneasy when I leave my blog for too long, so it’s about time for a post… Time has been flying! I hope everyone enjoyed their Halloween and Thanksgiving! Has it really been that long since I’ve posted!? Wow! Can y’all believe it is already “The Most Wonderful Time of the Year”!?

I love most everything about this time of the year; I could do without the cold! I feel like if it is cold there should be snow, and if there is no snow there is no point of it being cold; and here in Georgia we rarely get snow, and when we do get snow it’s not the good snow… Y’all know the soft, fluffy, fun to play in type snow. In Georgia we get ice, but it’s still nice to look at, lol.

Anyway, I love the scents of cinnamon, pine tree, and peppermint that comes along with this time of the year. I love the family holiday cards that we start to receive, and the matching PJ pictures. I love that we get our Advent Christmas Tree out (pictured) and start counting down the days to Christmas; a tradition we started with Isaiah a couple of years back that continues on. I love hot chocolate and Christmas movies with the family, Christmas tree lightings, going to look at Christmas lights and giving back to those less fortunate. I love the smiles on my children’s faces as they see presents appear under the Christmas tree, and I love watching my oldest son guess what his presents are then watching his anticipation and excitement grow as Christmas creeps nearer.

I work in Hospice and I love getting to be our patients extended family and singing Christmas carol with them, giving them small gifts, spending time and listening to their stories. There’s just something special about this time of the year!

What are some of your favorite things about this time of the year? What special traditions do you hold with your family?

My next blog post will most likely be in 2019, so Merry Christmas & A Happy New Year to all you lovely readers! See y’all next year!

  3. The older I’ve gotten, the less I’ve been excited about this time of year. But now that Eli is here, I am seeing this time through his eyes and it makes me so excited to make traditions and memories that he will always remember!
